Emplify Health invests acquires Mondovi clinic
Histories at Bellin and Gundersen drive rural healthcare investment at new organization
People in and around Mondovi, Wis., will soon have the quality care they expect from a growing organization committed to investment in local and regional healthcare.
Emplify Health has acquired the clinic in Mondovi from HSHS/Prevea Health and expects to open for patient care in the coming months. Emplify Health is the new brand for Bellin and Gundersen Health System that builds on decades of quality care and community support for this region.
“Bellin and Gundersen came together in 2022 to expand healthcare access in our region, especially for our friends in rural areas,” said Heather Schimmers, Gundersen Region President for Emplify Health. “As we become Emplify Health, we are growing, and we are positioned well to care for patients in communities like Mondovi as we have across the region for well over 100 years.”
“Patients in and around Mondovi deserve convenience from an experienced, trusted care team,” said Robert Holness, MD, Gundersen Region Medical Vice President for Community Care, Emplify Health. “We are here to help people get and stay well, while understanding their unique needs and providing care with kindness and compassion. That is what patients can expect from everyone at Emplify Health.”
The Mondovi Clinic will offer a range of primary care services to meet the community’s health and wellness needs. Staff recruitment is being prioritized in the coming weeks, along with building and equipment needs. A clinic opening date will be shared once it is confirmed.
This is the next step in Emplify Health’s thoughtful exploration of opportunities in and around the Chippewa Valley.
The Mondovi clinic closed in April as part of HSHS/Prevea Health’s plan to close all its western Wisconsin locations. While other systems are scaling back services or closing locations, Emplify Health is expanding its network of care to get even closer to patient needs and community support.
“Emplify Health is intentionally investing in locations and services across our system that benefit patients, communities,” said Bill Farrell, Emplify Health Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer. “Our mission compels us to relentlessly care, learn and innovate. This means personalized care and experience; this means persistence in how we research and validate opportunities. Everyone in our care can be comforted that the decisions we make are centered on them and their health and well-being.”
