Experienced Vice President of Total Rewards Joins Emplify Health
Human Resources can be a bit like a puzzle, especially in healthcare.

What excites Tom Ellis is collaborating with others to assemble that puzzle into a clear and inspiring picture for everyone.
Emplify Health is excited to welcome Tom as the new Vice President of Total Rewards, a role that will enable him to work across the organization to create a comprehensive and meaningful HR experience.
“I'm looking forward to gathering perspectives and ideas and crafting solutions that don't just fix problems but truly support people as they provide care and serve our communities,” Tom shares. “We need to offer them the best possible experience so they can care for themselves and others.”
A strategic leader in Total Rewards
Tom joins Emplify Health with extensive experience in HR Total Rewards and HR Operations leadership, most recently serving as Vice President of Total Rewards with AdventHealth, a multi-state system based in Florida with more than 100,000 employees.
Throughout his career, Tom has spearheaded transformational initiatives in job architecture, compensation design, benefits and retirement plans, often alongside major technology integrations with cross-functional partners. His deep expertise in compensation strategy, benefits design, wellness programs and HR technology makes him an ideal fit for Emplify Health, a leader in care quality, workforce recruitment and retention, and healthcare innovation.
“I really enjoy helping create workplaces and systems where people can excel,” Tom shares. “I can feel this same passion in each person I’ve met at Emplify Health.”
Tom also brings executive HR experience from Methodist Lebonheur Healthcare in Memphis, Tennessee, along with significant leadership roles at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine; Delhaize America, based in Scarborough, Maine; Northern Light Health in Brewer, Maine; and MaineHealth in Portland, Maine.

Tom envisions a Total Rewards approach that's both comprehensive and accessible. "Total Rewards depends on a meaningful, easy-to-understand framework that includes what people need for pay and benefits, as well as what they need to live their lives and do their work well," he explains. "My first priority will be to listen and learn from the Total Rewards team, HR colleagues, business and clinical leaders, and the employees we serve. With their input, we can understand the culture, shape our strategy and unite them in meaningful ways.”
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Augusta and a master’s degree in business administration from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine.
